Challenge 2011 winners

Thank you to the 77 bowlers who made the 2011 Challenge Night such good fun on 11th November. Thirteen teams made up of Hornsby Rockets members, family, friends and community supporters played for a magnificent array of trophies (and a coffee mug for each of the members of the lowest scoring team).

Macarthur Challenge 7th August 2011

The team from Hornsby Rockets won 12 gold, 16 silver and 4 bronze medals, and took out the Club Challenge Shield at Macarthur on 7th August !  Congratulations to the bowlers, and thanks to the parents and carers who got them there and volunteered on the day, and to those who ran Saturday bowling at Hornsby for the other bowlers.

TBA National Disability Championships 2011

The National Disability Championships were held in Adelaide 4th - 10th June.  Fifteen Hornsby Rockets bowlers and ten carers travelled to Adelaide for a busy week of bowling.  We'll bring you more photos as they come in. Congratulations to the bowlers who all participated in multiple events, and did their club proud.  Medals were won in fifteen events!

Karina Peters competed in the Interstate Challenge, for NSW, which was placed third.

Our thanks to the carers who went along to support the team members, and those who ran Saturday bowling for the other Hornsby Rockets on Saturday 5th.

The 2012 TBA National Disability Championships are scheduled to take place in mid-June in Hobart.

2011 TBA National Competition, Adelaide

This morning, 15 Hornsby Rockets accompanied by 10 parents and carers are off to Adelaide to compete in the national championship hosted by the Ten Pin Bowling Association, for bowlers with disabilities. We'll be away for the whole week!

It will be cold and wet we hear, in Adelaide, so wish us luck!  We will have a great time together, and hope to fit in some sight-seeing.  Karina will be playing for the State team, so send her a few extra good wishes.

For those Rockets not going to Adelaide, Saturday bowling is still on this Saturday (4th), at Hornsby, as other parents and volunteers have stepped in. Thanks!
