2017 Nationals - Day Six [MASTERS]

It wasn't enough that Natham (our in-house StatsMan) bowled a 52 over average on Day Five; he went out and won the Restricted Masters on Day Six.

He was placed in first position from the moment the 1st game ended and did not look back!

He played 8 games in succession scoring 150, 177, 178, 150, 141,140,163 and 169 averaging 158.5 (his entering average was 111).

Natham then had a playoff with the bowler who was in 2nd place and scored at 160 beating the opposition by 11 pins. Natham ended up with an average of 160.0.  In total he knocked down 2140 pins today.

Details can be found here.

Overall, he has played 42 games for the competition and now is having a well deserved rest.

The non-State bowlers by now have bowled eighteen games in the past four days. The bowlers in the Cole Cup, an additional seven and the Open State comp, an additional five. You'd think, after bowling as many games as they have, this would be a day of tired mediocrity.

Not so.

2017 Nationals - Day Four

Day four is Wednesday is States. NSW v VIC v QLD v WA v SA v ACT v NT v TAS and a lot of cheering (at extremely high volumes, at times).

There are two Divisions: Open and Coles Cup. Hornsby Rockets represented in both: Adam represented NSW in the Open division and (deep breath), Ben, Warren, Tim, Natham and Karina represented NSW in the Coles Cup. Great results this year:

Well done everybody!

2017 Nationals - Day Three

The State Teams had the "day off" on Tuesday, coming together at the Rooty Hill RSL (so big it needs its own post code) for a team lunch. And the rest of the bowlers had a light day, with a single series of Doubles.

Highlights from Tuesday:

Doubles
Lucy                 28 pins over average for the series

Amy                 24 pins over average for the series

2017 Nationals - Day the ONE

Rooty Hill RSL - so big it needs its own post code.

And the bowling alley is pretty big, too.

Nationals kicked off today (for the Rockets - the comp actually started on Wednesday. Or Thursday) and we showed up meaning business. No scores yet (I'll post them as I get them) except for the 211 that Adam pulled off this afternoon. Well done, mate.

Adam, before the 211 (more smiles afterward)

Amy and Angela, watching

Chillin'

David eatin'

Lesley smilin'

Emma laughin'

It was nice to be in a good sized alley for Nationals, for a change
