States Comp and Roll Off - What a Weekend!

NSW STATE DISABILITY CHAMPIONSHIPS / MASTERS / ROLL OFFS

On Saturday 5^th November, Adam Mandarano, Amy McFadden, Angela Moxham, Ben Barber, Candice Lundie, Karina Peters, Mark Milner, Natham Constable, Robert Klabbers, Tim Wilson and Warren Seymour competed in the State Championships at Tenpin City Lidcombe.

The next day, Angela, Ben, Karina, Natham, Tim and Warren competed in the Masters.

Karina 34 pins over average for the series

The results for the masters are as follows:

In the Female Division

Karina came home with a 3^rd

In the Male Division - the boys did a clean sweep.

Tim received a 3^rd

Ben received a 2^nd

Natham came 1^st & WON the Masters.

Then, after bowling in the Masters, Adam, Amy, Angela, Karina, Natham, Tim and Warren tried out for the Roll Offs – which is the selection for the NSW State Team in 2017.

After a long day, commencing early morning and finishing early evening, the teams were announced.

In the Open Division Adam was selected

In the Cole Cup Division Ben, Karina, Natham, Tim and Warren were chosen.

5 Rockets were selected out of a total 8 participants for this Division

There were 26 nominations!

There were many proud parents/carers and an even prouder Pres!

Whether the bowlers won a medal/trophy or not and even if they did not get into the State Team, they all tried their best and we should be proud of the attitude, comradery and fair play by the Rockets.

Orange Competition Highlights

ORANGE COMPETITION

On Saturday 15^th October Amy, Angela, Ben, Karina, Natham, Tim and Warren travelled over the Great Dividing Range to compete in the Orange City Disability Championships.

We had a long and tiring afternoon of bowling. Below are some of our great achievements:

The Australia Adult Championship

CONGRATULATIONS NATHAM

On Saturday 8^th October Natham Constable bowled his first ball for the All Ability Team as part of the Australian Adult Championship, held at Lidcombe TenPin City. His team mates came from Gosford (Steven Warren), Tasmania (Thomas Brown) and Queensland (Martyn Challinor).

He bowled continuously from Saturday till Thursday then fronted up for the Orange City Disability Championships on the following Saturday – a total of 36 games played.

Natham bowled each game over his average and was awarded the Chairperson’s Award, given to the bowler who scores the highest scores over average. This even included the “abled-bodied” bowlers. He entered with an average of 110 and scored a high game of 160 -- 50 pins above average. This was a "scratch" score – no handicap added.

In this tournament, your average increases with high scores and Natham had an ending Tournament Average of 136.

We had a fantastic turnout at the Rockets' Invitational. Saturday and Sunday were well attended and mucho thanks to LEsley, Anna and Natham who organised it to a tee. And thanks also to AMF Hornsby for keeping things ticking along.
